Our company is built on the principles of buying,making and selling quality products and providing a reliable family run service.

Our diversified product range continues to grow by understanding trends, improving our standard products and listening to the customer's requirements. By understanding your specific requirements and offering our experience we have the ability to add uniqueness to your day.  We source items from all over the world to make sure we can give you real value for money and to keep our prices low. The more of the package you use the lower the package price.

This unique service has established our place within the industry. This allows us to make a distinctive and substantial impact for our clients, and as we grow we ensure we have additional experts on hand to maintain our high standards.

As business has grown we could no longer accommodate the wide variety of goods we kept in what used to be a home.  Fortunately just at the right time the long established wholesale and retail florist business Flowers & Floral (previously part of the Frank H Mann empire) came on the market.  We purchased this business and as well as obtaining premises we were also fortunate to gain experienced and dedicated additions to our team, and further additions since.  This fulfilled a life time dream of the Bosses, to own her own florists.

Make It Special started, in fact, from having four daughters.  Having planned and arranged the first wedding we were asked, by some of those present who had done the arrangments.  The second wedding was completely different but also attracted admiration and requests for advice.  The remaining two weddings were, of course, also unique in their own way, but we were getting into the swing of things by then.  We were also used to unusual requests - one daughter wanted snow at her wedding - of course there wasn't any (Despite being December) but we had bought a small snow machine just in case.  She had snow. 

Friends asked for help and advice with their special days and as we had no daughters left to get married we decided to set up "Make It Special" and help  those who want advice and assistance.

We then added our own floristry business to the mix as it gives us, and of course you, greater flexibility and this also involves all our daughters at various times (not forgetting our son who along with me gets the heavy, and non glamorous jobs). Then the wedding cars seemed a good idea, so we bought some. This gives additional involvement to our son, sons in law and friends, who enjoy driving the luxury cars.  We have also added chair covers and sashes, table runners and swags.  People were telling us that they wanted these but they were very expensive.  Sourcing from around the world means we can compete.  We do offer a do-it-yourself hire option, but frankly if you want the venue to look it's best get the professionals in.  Speaking as the one person who can't tie a bow I can tell you it looks a lot easier than it is. And of course it always seems a good idea to cut down the costs but when the day arrives you suddenly realise you have run out of time and helpers.

One of our daughters owns The Cridford Inn in Trusham which is a superb venue for wedding receptions and also bed and breakfast. We can also arrange outside catering to assist with the latest trend for outside weddings (with Marquee of course - but do remember this is England and not Malibu, We have set up some weddings in really tricky conditions, mind the cow shed was interesting - and a bit smelly).

Not to be outdone we built two cottages on land opposite The Cridford which are available to let. We often fill the Inn and the cottages with wedding guests. Decorating the venue is more of a passion with the team, and another of our daughters is involved with the favours and decorations for the table, in combination with the boss, Glynis.

Finally another of our daughters is a singer so we even have some entertainment on hand.
